About the Recipe
Easy to follow beer battered fish recipe. Add a touch of English flair by adding a side of curry as a dipping sauce.
2 lb fresh fish filets
1 3/4 cups all purpose flour, extra for initial coating of fish
1 ts garlic powder
1/2 ts turmeric
1/2 ts cumin
1/2 ts cayenne pepper
12 oz amber ale
1 juiced lemon
Salt and pepper for initial seasoning of fish
Whisk flour, garlic powder, turmeric, cumin, cayenne, ale, and lemon juice.
Season filets with salt and pepper then coat in flour. Set aside. Heat oil to 300⁰F.
Dunk and cover filets in batter. Cook 4-6 minutes until golden brown.
Serve with fries and a side of curry sauce for dipping!
